On September 17th 2022, Grace Mary Lubke, nee Bonnema, 89, of Chicago passed away surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Grace was born in Chicago, Il on May 4th, 1933 to Gertrude and Peter Bonnema.
Grace married the love of her life, Donald Lubke, on October 23rd, 1954 and were happily married for 67 years. Together they raised six children, Donna (Lindsey) Parsons, Marianne (John) Boynton, Susan (William) Siemek, Donald (Eva) Jr., Lynn (Tim) Scanlon, and Gayle (Alex) Dwyer.
She was the cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren Christopher, Gregory (Kim), and Matthew (Amber) Parsons, Andrew (Rachel) and Nicholas Boynton, William (Melissa), Stephen, Jessica (Russell), and Eric (Erin) Siemek, Colleen, Katherine (Brent), and Timothy Lubke, Rosemary (Joseph) and Tadhg Scanlon, and Jake Dwyer. She was the beloved GG to nine great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Grace was a longtime sales associate at JCPenneys and was a parishioner of St. Bede and St. Gerald Parishes. She was the biggest fan to all of her grandchildren and attended countless baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and wrestling tournaments to cheer them on.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel 7740 S. Western Ave Chicago from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
