Georgine C. Vacca

Georgine C. Vacca, age 89, of Homer Glen and Oak Lawn, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021. Loving wife of over 35 years to the late Richard G. Vacca; Beloved mother to Janis (Dan) Wojnowski; Cherished grandmother to Meghan (Dave) Jones and Danny Wojnowski; Great-grandmother to Bobby; Dear sister to Jerry (Lynn) Clancy and the late Evelyn (Burt) Weiss; Aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Georgine graduated from both the Academy of Our Lady (Longwood) High School and the Northern Illinois Teacher’s College, leading her to spending her professional career of over 37 years teaching our youth with the Chicago Board of Education. She enjoyed her leisurely time reading a large assortment of books and working on her crossword puzzles. Georgine was also a participant in the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Deaconite Wives Group.

Visitation for Georgine will be on Wednesday, September 22, from 3-8 PM, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W 103rd, Oak Lawn. Funeral to begin at 10:15 AM on Thursday, September 23, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home proceeding to St. Linus Church, 10300 Lawler Ave, Oak Lawn, for an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
