Gary Melvin Gilkison, age 80 passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Gary was born October 30, 1937 in Barboursville, West Virginia to his parents Roy and Alta Gilkison. Gary is survived by his children; Jeffery, Cheri (Michael) Brandon, Michele (Sean) Norton, Tamara (Scott) Garelli, Michael (Angela) Reno, Maurene (Jim) Solari and Mark (Cindy) Reno. Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen. Gary was also a proud grandfather of 16 and great grandfather of 3 and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Had a dedicated career at Sears for 38 years, retiring at age 55 to pursue his flea market hobby and enjoy leisure time playing golf and being a “snow bird” in Naples, FL. A visitation for Gary will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home 11333 South Central Avenue in Oak Lawn, IL. 60453. A chapel service will occur Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home. The burial will follow immediately after at Chapel Hill Gardens South.
