Donna M. Hedrick, nee Mozdzeniak, 63, beloved wife of the late Henry, devoted mother of Barbara (Bryan Migalla) Ledcke Migalla, Marcy (Wally) Brown and Kristie (the late Michael) Meloy; proud grandmother of Dennis Jr. (Jamie) Ledcke, Derek (Tracy) Ledcke, Donny (Vicki) Ledcke, Dustin Ledcke, Kevin Makowan, Nicole (Scott) Ginder, Haley Brown, Jonathan, Logan, Mikey and Aubrey Meloy; great-grandmother of Breana, Blake, Kelton, Tyler and Isaac; loving sister of Edward Mozdzeniak. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew.

Donna was a loving, kind, and generous soul. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Donna was a wonderful cook and party planner. She loved to shop and prepare her “Fun Gift” to give to family at Christmas time. She enjoyed playing instant lottery tickets and visiting the casino. Donna enjoyed watching the Food Network, Days of Our Lives, and Dancing with The Stars.

Donna was a Retired Deputy Sergeant in Court Services Training at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. She was a dedicated Instructor who absolutely LOVED her job. She was known to be the Queen of Teaching. She felt immense pride seeing her students succeed.

Donna was diagnosed with ALS and lost her ability to speak due to this devastating disease. She put up a good fight despite the negative impact this disease had on her. The ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter made a beautiful impact on her life. They provided her the needed resources and support to obtain quality of life.
