Denise A. Elliott-Harris, affectionately known as “Niecy”, was born on January 11, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second of three children. Niecy graduated in 1978 from Academy of our Lady “Longwood” High School, with high honors, and attended Chicago State University where she studied computer science.
Niecy was very creative. She loved to dance and had many talents including being a seamstress, a good cook, a creative hair braider, and a pianist. In her later years, Niecy developed a love for and became a “diamond art/painting enthusiast” and spent countless hours making many beautiful diamond paintings. She also spent many selfless years being a compassionate care giver for several aging adults, including a close friend, a dear neighbor, and her beloved mother.
Niecy made a peaceful transition into eternity on July 6, 2024, at the Little Company of Mary hospital with her family and friends at her side.
Niecy will be sweetly remembered by many, and her life and memories will be cherished by her daughter: Demiera Frommelt (Tyler): sister: Lawana Lyons (Calvin); two grandsons: Julien Frommelt, and Kieran Frommelt; lifetime partner and soulmate: Joel Young; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home located at 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Visitation is scheduled at 12:00pm followed promptly with the memorial service from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. Inurnment will take place at 2:30pm at Evergreen Cemetery located at 3401 West 87th Street, Evergreen Park, IL 60805.
