David William Morrow, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2020, at the University of Chicago Medical Center. His wife and youngest daughter were by his side during his transition.
David was born on February 9, 1962, on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois. He attended St. Denis School and Bogan High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from DePaul University. He married Donna Johnson in 1981 and they had two children. They subsequently divorced. David later married Angela Yokoe in September of 2012. David is survived by his wife, Angela; his daughters, Lisa and Grace; two grandchildren, Emmett and Amelia; and his siblings, Greg Morrow, Dennis Morrow, Mary Johnson, and Ed Morrow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Greg and Eileen Morrow, and a brother, Terry.
David’s career was mainly spent as a respected editor for various educational and scholarly publishing companies and included co-writing two published books. David will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, generosity, sincerity, and immense capacity for love. He was exceptional at looking out for others. David was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 CST on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. It will be a closed private event due the restrictions currently in place, but the service will be streamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page. Visitations will also take place the day before, on June 11. David will be interred at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
