Charles R Kegebein

CHARLES R. KEGEBEIN CARBONDALE, IL Charles R. Kegebein, formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away on April 20, 2015 in Carbondale, IL at age 95. He was born in Lansing to William and Marie Kegebein. As part of the Greatest Generation, he proudly served in Italy during WWII. He married Elaine VanBolhuis in Roseland on October 24, 1947. Chuck retired from Inland Steel, and he and Elaine retired to Westminster, SC. He is survived by four daughters, Linda (Rich)VanderMolen, Rensselaer, IN; Carlene (William) Kohlenberger, Carbondale, IL; Kim (Tom) Ottenhoff, Palos Hts. IL; and Lisa (Jim)McNurlan, Westfield, IN; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Helen Roper and brothers Ray and Bob. Charles was active at Lansing's VFW Post 7660, and the Legion and Lions Club in Westminster, SC. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL on May 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Memorials can be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 204 N.
