August “Gus” (age 86) Beloved husband of Maria nee: Hozjan.Loving father of Paula (Kenneth) Schroeder, Angela (Joey) Pinter, Rose (James) Petrini and Michael Petek. Proud Dedek of Isabella, Flora, Jack Petrini, Clayton, and Monica Petek. Dearest brother of Helena and the late Josef. Uncle to many and a friend to all. Memorial visitation: Monday, December 11, 2017, at St. Mary Slovenian Mission Church 14246 Main St. Lemont, IL. 9:00 am until Mass at 10:00 am. Inurnment: Resurrection Cemetery. Gusti was a proud member of both the Slovenian Catholic Mission and the Slovenian Catholic Center from their beginnings 23 years ago. He was an ever-present participant in the many events held in our Dom. He and his wife Marija were both dancers in the early folk dance group in the early days of the Slovenski Dom. Gusti was a long-standing member of the Prekmurje Social Klub. His easy smile and friendly chuckle will be missed by all. To his loving wife, Marija, and her family, we express our deepest condolences. Gusti, we will miss you.
