Mary "Evelyn" Silveira A life-long resident of Novato, was born January 26, 1930, in Petaluma. She passed away December 19, 2012. Evie, fondly nicknamed, "The Candy Lady", by her loyal customers of Crocker National Bank (now, Wells Fargo), retired after 30 years as a bank teller in the early 1980's. She enjoyed traveling, dancing the Jitterbug, and most importantly spending time with her friends and family. She spent the last two years of her life traveling between New York and California to be near to family, bringing great joy to her later years. She was the daughter of the late Manuel T. and Lena B. Affonso. Beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Silveira and sister of Edward T. Affonso (Sharon). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Evie attended Lagunitas School and graduated from San Rafael High School in 1948. Friends are invited to visit Wednesday, December 26th from 5:00PM-8:00PM, and Thursday 27th from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Keaton's Redwood Chapel of Marin, 1801 Novato Boulevard, Novato. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 27th at 7:00PM also at Keaton's Redwood Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 28th at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park, Novato. Requesting Memorial Gifts to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
