Born November 12th, 1949 in Waltham, MA, Dan grew up in San Anselmo, California where he enjoyed water skiing, tennis and general shenanigans. A proud Eagle Scout, Daniel graduated from Sir Francis Drake High School, with an undergrad degree from Stanford and his degree in Internal Medicine from George Washington University. He was subsequently Board Certified also in Insurance Medicine and spent 30 years advising to the Long Term Care community.
His greatest pride was in his sons, Matt and Joe, who shared his fondness for the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and tales around the campfire at the cabin in the mountains. "You are the most awesome sons a man could ever hope for. Love, Dad."
He will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, his patience, his compassion, his crack shot hunting skills, his sharp wit, and being “cruelly handsome”.
Preceded in death by his father John Monet Elliott and his mother Peggy Elliott Wilson, Dan was the dearly beloved husband of Sally, father of Matt (Erica), Joe (Landy, Gray and John Douglas), brother of John, Susan (Bruce), Katy (Dale), and Bill (Chris).
We know that Dan would want to say goodbye to his vast number of cousins, his dear friends at Butte Lodge Outing Club, and to his friends and his colleagues in the LTC insurance community.
A celebration of Dan’s very full and accomplished life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s name to The Boys and Girls Aid Society of Oregon, info@bga.org . Services have been entrusted to Keaton’s Redwood Chapel of Marin, Novato, CA.
