I modified this poem for Connie and I hope the family finds comfort in it.

GOD'S GARDEN

God looked around His garden
And He found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw Connie's precious face.

He put His arms around her
And lifted her to rest;
God' s Garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

He knew that she was suffering
He knew she was in pain
He knew Connie would never 
Get well on earth again.

So He closed her weary eyelids
And whispered " Peace be thine "
Then He took her up to Heaven
With Hands so gentle and kind.

It broke our hearts to lose her
But she did not go alone,
For part of us went with her
The day God welcomed you home.

Connie was a true and faithful friend who was always there when I needed her.  She would always be the first to respond and ready to go and sing at a moment's notice.

I'll miss sharing times of singing, praying, laughing, eating, tears of joy and sorrow.  She leaves such a wide gap in my heart that no one else could ever fill.

Until we sing and dance together again before the throne of God, I know she's already at it...

I have so many thoughts and emotions that I have no idea where to even begin to express my feelings and love for you. I guess I should start by saying that I love with you with ALL of my heart! Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you or miss you; there is literally not a minute in my day that you are not on my mind. Since you have been gone I have come to realize just how much I took advantage of you. I miss everything about you; even the things that used to drive me crazy. I still am in disbelief that you are gone from me. I still find myself waiting to hear you open the front door, put your keys down on the table, and greet me with a smile. When something cool or excited happens in my day I still think “oh I can’t wait to tell mom about this”, then I realize that I can’t. I can’t begin to express how much pain that I feel not having you here, hearing your sweet loving voice, and cuddling with you with your soft yummy skin. You won’t believe how many times I have roamed into your room and gone into your drawers and closet hoping to find just one article of clothing that has just a scent of your delicious mommy smell; I have yet to find it and it’s so frustrating! I have become such a hoarder these past few weeks collecting things of yours that I knew you loved. I thought that they would bring me comfort or make me feel just a little bit closer to you, but they don’t. I realized that YOU are just irreplaceable! No object or article of clothing will ever take the place of you. You were not only my mother but my biggest fan, my teacher, my coach, my greatest advocate, provider, and most of all, my best friend. You have been there for me literally from the very moment that I was born. You and daddy out of the kindness of your hearts took a little premature Maude into your house and raised me up to be the very best Woman of God that I can be; for that I am eternally grateful! My entire life you not only taught me about Christ’s love but you portrayed it. Man do I miss you little lady! I really miss being so close to you! I always used to wonder why I just could not stop being near you lol and I’m sure I drove you and those around us crazy! If I wasn’t playing in your hair, I was holding your hand, if I wasn’t holding your hand I was laying on your shoulder, if I wasn’t laying on your shoulder I was kissing you or asking you to kiss me. But you know what I’ve realized? I realized that I just could not resist your spirit, love, and gentleness. I’m going to miss that infectious laugh that you had. I remember being so scared when you laughed because I thought that you were going to stop breathing you would laugh so hard lol. You would crack up laughing and right in the middle you wouldn’t be able to catch your breath, then you would start coughing. You took laughing seriously and I’m going to miss it so much! You had the most amazing sense of humor! I remember when I was young and dumb I used to say that when I started having kids, I did not want daughters because I did not want to have the relationship with my daughter that I had you with you, because we used to fight and argue and because they were expensive. Now that I am without I want to have a daughters so that I can get back the relationship that we had with one another. What we had was something truly special and I will eternally cherish every moment, fight, conversation, joke fest, and experience that we shared together. The fighting was so worth it and I wouldn’t change any of it for one second! The Connie and Maude show would have really been a hit! Remember when I used to say “mom we really need our own show”? We were a partnership for real lol! I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you did for me to make me the person that I am now! Thank you for putting me in the best schools, for whooping my butt when I was out of line (you should have done it more), for the Godly advice you were always there to give, for putting me in church at a young age, for picking me up when I fell, for rooting me on when I was ready to give up, for every kiss, smile, laugh, victory jig you did when I got good grades, gift, and so so SO much more! I’m sorry for not being the best daughter to you at times. I regret the attitude, impatience, disobedience, selfishness, and just all around ugliness that I gave you at times. Everyday things that I’ve done against you go through my mind. I wish that I could take every one back and replace it with a hug, a kiss, and I love you! Oh Mama! What am I going to do without you? Life just isn’t as worth it without you. I used to always say that you and daddy have to stick around to see the very last of my eight kids’ child to graduate from college and now you won’t even be there to see me graduate from college. How am I going to get married and have kids without you? No one will do as good a job as you because you knew me like the back of your hand! I lost my birth mom at 6 and my life mom at 21. That is just too young! I need you here so much! I had a dream last night that you had come back to us all. I was so happy! All I could do was hold you and kiss you and tell you how much I love you and miss you! I was instantly sad when I woke up because you were not there. I feel so empty without you and life just doesn’t make sense anymore. I’m gonna keep on living however and I’m gonna strive every day to be half the woman that you were! I’m going to make you proud and keep on toward getting my degree and I’m gonna one day marry and raise my kids like you raised me! Every day I will love you, think about you, cherish you, and carry on your legacy! I will never forget that day in the hospital when I was there with you all day and I was sad and helpless because I could not take away your pain. I whispered in your ear crying “love you!” You said, “I love you too!”, then I whispered again, “I love you more than that!”, and then you replied, “With every beat of my heart I love you!” Well mommy with every beat of my heart I love you! I always have and always will! That moment will forever be ingrained in my memory because at that time you were out of it most of the time but you managed to express how you felt to me! You took my pain away in that moment and made me feel like a million bucks! You had an amazing way of doing that! I could go on share memories and feelings for a lifetime but some things are more special when it’s shared between just two people! Mom you were and are the greatest woman ever created! I can’t wait to see you and worship right next to you again someday! An endless supply of kisses and hugs!

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies... Proverbs 31:10 Connie was indeed God's virtuous woman and she blessed the lives of so many... The scripture quoted at Connie's service was so appropriate because she was truly a "virtuous woman."  I take grest comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on forever and ever.  My heartfelt condolences to her beautiful family.

Over the past almost 24 yrs of my life you were there every step of the way..the one face I always remembered seeing, always a kind word, a big hug,and a smile...No matter what you were always happy to see me..You were like my other grandmother/my aunt/ and my big cousin...and Never did you judge me or treat me any different..you always had the best spirit and could make anyone feel like a million bucks no matter how down they were...you meant and mean so much to me and I know you are in a far better place than this world in which we live..I love you auntie, I appreciate everything you've ever done for me and taught me, I appreciate the positive influence you gave me, and also the LOVE you showed me...No one will ever compare to the angel we like to refer to as Connie Marie Page and her legacy will live on forever...Rest In Peace and Paradise my guardian angel..@}-;-'---(a Rose),:-*(a kiss), <3 (and all my love).

It's hard to say goodbye to someone who's played a key factor in my life for the last 22 years, but i know im not saying goodbye, I'm simply saying see you later. I love you sooooo much Granny and I will never ever stop!!! true definition of a real angel...
