Barbara Mary Wilbor Olsen

Barbara Phyllis Mary Wilbor was born in San Francisco on November 8, 1940 to Otis and Emily (Risso) Wilbor. She grew up in the west Marin community of Woodacre, California and graduated from Marin Catholic High School.

Barbara raised her three daughters in Fairfax, supporting the family as a dry cleaner. In 1984 she met and married her second husband, Rick Olsen and they spent twenty-one happy years together until his death in 2005.

She was a caring and loving person who was full of life with great wit and humor. She enjoyed traveling with Rick, hosting family gatherings at their house in Novato, and spending time (usually over meals) with family and friends. Barbara was very proud of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed her great-grandchildren in recent years. Her dogs were a big part of her life as well - she had a huge heart for rescue dogs and spoiled many over the years. She had a long career as a dry cleaner for 40 years in Marin - taking pride in her work. In her retirement, Barbara would keep busy volunteering serving meals at the Senior Center in Novato and driving chemotherapy patients to their appointments.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 21 years, Rick Olsen and oldest daughter, Virginia (Coleman) Murphree.

She is survived by her brother George Wilbor, her two daughters, Audrey Coleman-Fameli and Suzanne Dailey, her two step-sons Robert and Randy Olsen, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will also be formal Mass for Barbara at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 12th at St. Mary's Church in Nicasio, CA. There will be a gathering after Mass at Rancho Nicasio.
