It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Edward Fischer Junior, a devoted father, loving husband, cherished friend, and passionate enthusiast. Born on May 28, 1956 in Baltimore Maryland, he left us peacefully on March 21, 2025, at the age of 68. Bill, as he was affectionately called, was the beloved son of the late William Edward Fischer Senior and Dorothy Fischer. Bill was a man of many talents, hobbies, and a deep love for life.
A proud graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1974, Bill went on to have a successful career of 40 years as a technical engineer, where his intellect and dedication shone. His problem-solving abilities and passion for his work were always admired by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Outside of his professional life, Bill was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast. His love for motorcycles was matched only by his love for his daughters. Whether cruising on his Harley, enjoying a campfire, or sleeping in a tent in the backyard, he was always happiest when surrounded by nature and the people he loved.
Christmas was a time of year that always brought out his most joyous spirit. Each holiday season, he could be found decorating his home with snowmen, sharing in festive traditions, and bringing home warmth and light to those around him. His family gatherings, full of laughter, good food, and love, were highlights that will be deeply missed.
A proud Eagle Scout and service member of the US Air Force Reserves, Bill carried the values of honor, service, and dedication with him throughout his life. He was known for his selflessness, generosity, and his ability to bring people together. His annual crab feasts, where he hosted friends and family to enjoy great food and even greater company, became a beloved tradition that will never be forgotten.
More than anything, Bill was a family man. His love for his family knew no bounds, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his daughters, grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that his memory will live on through the many lives he touched. Those who knew Bill will remember him for his public displays of continuous and embarrassing jokes. Bill’s warmth, sense of humor, and dedication to his loved ones will continue to inspire us every day.
Bill is survived by his loving daughters Lauren and Rachel, his son-in-law Andreas, his daughter-in-law Chanelle, his grandchildren Amari, Finnegan, and Kieran. He also leaves behind his sisters Dorothy and Debra, his former wives Esther and Marybeth, his niece Kimberley, and nephews James and David.
A funeral service will be held at Loudon Park Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Friends and family are invited to share memories, stories, and celebrate the wonderful life of Bill Fischer. A Celebration of Life will be held that evening at GunPowder Lodge from 4:30PM-8:30PM. Flowers can be delivered to Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236, on Friday, March 28, 2025.
Rest in peace, Bill. Your legacy lives on in every ride, every campfire, every holiday gathering, and every heart you touched.
