August 29, 1928 – January 17, 2012
On Tuesday evening, January 17, 2012, William Franklin Edwards, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the time of his passing, William “Bill”, a Korean War Veteran, 70-year member of Perry Hall United Methodist Church, and beloved husband of Joan (nee Wieland), was at home and surrounded at his bedside by his wife of nearly 60-years, and his three children (Michael William; Steven Scott; and Susan Lynn).
Bill retired in 1991 from Westinghouse Electric Supply Company (WESCO) after 28 years of service. He was very active in his church with lay reading, ushering, building committees and food drives. He was also active with community outreach food runs, blood drives and made frequent trips to Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation to assist the Baltimore Area Council (BAC) of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) with maintenance and renovations to the campgrounds.
Bill was the devoted father of,
Susan Lynn and husband Bill Ullrich of Silver Run MD,
Steven Scott and wife Denise of Ellicott City MD, and
Michael William and former daughter-in-law Nancy of Towson MD.
He was the loving grandfather of nine (9) grandchildren,
Joshua Michael,
Brooke Nicole,
Kelsey Caroline,
Justin Wieland,
Shawn Michael,
Nicholas William,
Nicole Lynn,
Carly Alyssa, and
Lyndsey Janet.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Dorsie, and six siblings; Dick, Bob, Jim, Lorraine, Vivian Edwards, and Dolores Moennick.

A private funeral and internment service was held for the immediate family on Friday, January 20, 2012.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life Service is being planned at Perry Hall United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1:00pm. All who knew Bill are welcome.
