On Friday, March 3, 2023, Thomas Richard Katzenberger, Jr. passed peacefully at home in his sleep, surrounded by what mattered most to him, his loving wife and family. Always referring to himself as the most content man alive, he passes through this Earth leaving the legacy of a strong family based on unbreakable bonds.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Rose Katzenberger (Maggio), to whom he has been married 63 years. Survived by his children: Rose & Billy Rizza, Gloria Jean & Mike Deasel, Thomas & Oki Katzenberger, III, Joseph Katzenberger and Debra & Scott Waldhauser. Also survived by 12 wonderful grandchildren and their spouses and 12 Great-Grandchildren. Survived by his sister Dorothy Pearce and predeceased by his brother William Katzenberger. As the family grows, his values of a strong family continue to live on.
A visitation for Tom will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Road, Nottingham, MD 21236 on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Church, 8030 Bradshaw Road, Kingsville, MD 21087. Interment Highview Memorial Gardens, 3433 Fallston Road, Fallston, MD 21047.
