It's hard to believe the one year loss of such a remarkable friend is December 10, Sandy remains in our hearts.

My family and I have known our neighbor, Ms. Sandy for almost 20 years, and knew her parents that lived in her house for many years before before they passed and she moved in; she has been the friendliest person I have ever met. For years I would see her walking Tilly, and the pup would always want to come over to say hi to my family and our 2 dogs over the years. She gave us warm words of condolences when we lost our pup two years ago, and we were sad to hear when she lost her own Tilly. And now I am in disbelief that Ms. Sandy has left us too. I'm always hit with sadness every time I look outside my window and see her empty house, with her Christmas decorations of dachshunds, just like her Tilly, still out on the lawn as of right now. My Christmas this year feels a little empty without her loving presence in our neighborhood.
May you rest in peace, Ms. Sandy, and I know you are now in the warm embrace of our Lord, with the most wonderful reunion with your parents and your beloved Tilly!

Oh no! I was Sandys mailman since 2016. I just heard the news today 12/21 of her passing. She was such a robust and wonderful woman, we shared many stories together over the years...and we shared our love of dogs. We both weeped when her Tilly passed, and when my dog passed...and now I weep alone for her.  

Sandy was a very kind neighbor. I remember when I was pregnant with my son, I would see her out with Tilly and she always wanted to see how things were going for us. We last saw her on Halloween and my husband had a lengthy conversation about our son being on the autism spectrum (which she knew from her brief interactions with him). We learned she was a special Educator during her career and she shared that she felt our son is very smart and will go places. I wish we had more time to chat with her and hoped to have continued our conversation when we saw her again. She was a sweet soul and we are very shocked and saddened by her passing. Prayers to you all and may she rest in the peace of Christ. 

Sorry to hear about Sandy's passing.She was my field hockey coach at Keough.She worked with my family at the  Archdiocesan Day camp for several summers. I have lots of funny memories of her. Sending  prayers to her family.

Ms. Harding was one of my teachers and a gymnastic coach at Archbishop Keough. She was easy going and liked to laugh. I enjoyed having her as my teacher and coach.

Ms. Harding (as I knew her) was one of my favorite teachers at Keough.  I am devastated to learn that she has passed away.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones.

I am very sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. I knew her as Ms. Harding at Keough/Seton-Keough where she was my homeroom teacher, gym teacher and guidance counselor. I will always remember her helpful spirit, sense of humor and big laugh. She was a big part of my Highschool experience and was a great resource when I was applying to college. She helped me attain my dream of playing field hockey and lacrosse at Towson State University. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Condolences to all of Sandy’s family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Sandy. Sandy and I were close friends at Mercy through basketball and shared interests in sports. After I graduated in 1971, we still kept in touch. Sandy was also a great friend to my younger sister, Barbara, who graduated in 1975. Her friendship and kind, caring concern for all of us was demonstrated often, especially when someone needed a shoulder to cry on or advice.  Sandy will be greatly missed by many of us in the Mercy High community. 

Sandy and I were classmates at St. Mary of the Assumption in Govans.  When I think of those days, Sandy is a constant part of the happy reflections, a kind, down -to-earth person I was always glad to see.  Later, in high school,  I would see her at various functions as Mercy was Calvert Hall's sister school, and she always made me smile and feel comfortable in her presence.  A genuine human being , she will remain in my reflections with great fondness.   

I would sometimes see Sandy in Ellicott City and she was always so friendly.  Her bubbly and forthright personality was just FUN to be around.  We played field hockey together - she was awesome - and I will miss her so very much at our next reunion.  Sandy loved Mercy and it is just staggering to think she won't be there.

To Sandy’s family - I am so sorry for your loss. I met Sandy during our college years at summer basketball camps in the Pocono Mountains. We immediately formed a strong friendship and have since maintained our long distance bond via occasional get togethers, email, and snail mail. Sandy had an incredible sense of humor and always put others ahead of her self. Sandy’s passing is such a shock, and the heaviness in my heart over her loss is immeasurable. She will be remembered for so many wonderful ways in which she touched the lives of those who knew her, and I send my deepest sympathies to all of Sandy’s family.

I was saddened to get this message about Sandy’s passing. I have not seen her since she graduated from Mercy in 1974. I graduated in 1976 and she was a junior which was the big sister class for us freshman. We became good friends and Sandy helped me and others adjust to high school life. What I do remember is all the fun and laughter we had. We may of gotten in trouble a few times also but it all was a part of growing up. I have wonderful memories of my Mercy days and all the friends I made and Sandy was one of those friends. She will be missed.

Our Mercy High School years together, esp on the basket court, were full of friendship, fun times and wonderful memories. Prayers and God’s blessings for Sandy and her family. 💔 

My prayers are with all of Sandy's family and close friends.  We were great friends in high school and I loved seeing her at the reunions.  If we still lived in Baltimore, I'm sure we would have seen a lot more of each other.  What a terrible loss to those she's closest to.  God bless, Sandy!

I am so deeply sorry to hear about Sandy's unexpected passing.  As I moved away from Maryland to Delaware and then Florida  we have grown close through email exchanges over many years both with myself and my dad when he was around.  We thoroughly enjoyed her sharing many teaching experiences as well as nostalgic and funny postings.    She was a very accomplished artist and it was clear she loved animals as much as my wife Donna and I do.  Sandy was a true family friend and will be deeply missed.  She will always have a special place in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Sandy and I both taught at Hereford High School, where we became immediate friends. We both cared more about our students than our administration which got us into “trouble” a time or two.  The FFA purchased a miniature pony and I often saw Sandy in the pasture feeding him carrots and brushing him. When school closed for vacation, Sandy volunteered to stop by to check on all of the animals.

When another co-worker was diagnosed with breast cancer, Sandy was there taking care of her and gave support to a devastated husband.

I moved to Florida and Sandy never held that against me. I wish I had been able to visit her.

We both believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, so Sandy- this is NOT goodbye. It’s “See ya later”.

I taught physical education  with Sandy and years later commissioned several pieces of art from her. She was a truly devoted teacher beloved by her students, an amazingly creative and talented artist and a kind and loyal friend. I will miss you Sandy. ❤️💔

Sandy and I went to grade school and High school together. We always hung out in high school till she went away to Salisbury. Just before COVID she would have a bunch of us girls from MERCY over for a Christmas celebration. She always loved having us at her home and looked forward to it every year.
We have shared so many great times together! She will be missed!
