Robert Ellsworth Turner Willey, age 89, passed away on August 23, 2023. Bob was born to Clara and Robert Willey on July 3, 1934. He graduated from Dundalk High School in 1953. Served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, where he was tasked with processing and the induction of Elvis Presley into the Army. He spent his entire career working at Bethlehem Steel until retirement in 1992. In 1961, he married Mary (nee Weber), predeceased, and together they had three daughters: Susan, Karen and Lauren. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, bowling and golfing. In his later years, he enjoyed playing cards with his friends, going to the casinos and watching his grandchildren grow up and play sports. He was an avid Orioles fan, cheering on “his” team until the end.
Bob is survived by his children: Susan and husband William (Bill) Dryer, Karen and husband Jon Giesey, Lauren and husband Steven Evans. His grandchildren: Caitlin (nee Dryer) and husband, Jacob Palmer, Aaron Dryer, Elijah Dryer, Joshua Giesey, Grace Giesey, Samual Evans and wife, Jillian (nee Gallogly) and Benjamin Evans. His great granddaughter, Magnolia Palmer. His nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and, his best friend, Mary Helen Stokely.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home (9705 Belair Road Nottingham, MD 21236) on Monday, August 28, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m where funeral service will be held held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug 29, 2023.
