I was glad to have the opportunity to visit with John at the wedding of Johnny and Alex last fall.  He made me laugh with his reference to his "tuxedo."  He was in great spirits that night.  I always remember him to be a kind and gentle person.  Take solace in his lasting legacy of family.

JC and I were friends for 29 years, working together at Amtrak and living next door to each other in Ocean City. I have a lot of memories of JC over those 29 years, way too many to share here. I'm going to miss walking out on my deck and seeing JC doing some painting or just sitting at his table relaxing or reading. He loved Barn 34, Johnny's Pizza and Coconuts and his presence at those places will be missed. A great friend for 29 years, I will miss his kindness and thoughtfulness. My condolences to his family.

Magical describes our childhood and Mr. John was certainly at the helm. When someone who was the center of so much life dies, a part of all of us dies. We endure a hard and painful separation until we are reunited in His perfect love. Then our beautiful journey resumes with Mr. John, my Mama, Mr. Dick and so many of the other great ones. This is how we get through grief with hope. This is how we find comfort in pain. This is how we live again. 




My deepest condolence are with your entire family.  I was so blessed to have some of the greatest times with Mr John.  He had the most genuine heart, the biggest personality, the best smile and an infectious laugh!  I am forever grateful for the memories I have tucked away in my heart.  He had such love for his family…his stories, values and kindness live on in you, and that is a beautiful legacy.  You all are being lifted up in my special prayers during this very difficult time.  

So sorry for your loss. John loved his family and friends with his whole heart. I remember him with the Sr Star Showcase group on a river boat in New Orleans. He got the group to sing when the band took a break and they were so good the crowd didn’t want the house band to resume playing!

He was my best friend for over 18 years, and we had many great times together.  We went on many day trips and overnight trips, and it’s one thing I’ll never forget.  He lived about 4 blocks from me, so it was very easy to be right there if he needed something, and vice versa.   I don’t think I’ll ever find another friend like him.  He was truly one of a kind!

What good times we had.  Will always remember you center stage singing your heart out.   Can  almost hear you singing "The Best of Times is Now. "    See you later.  Mary Jean Coyne





Many people ask God for a swift and painless death. John was given that gift. He is in the arms of the Creator and, as he used to sing, "I did it my way." I was blessed to have him in my life as a father and a friend. I will always remember advice he gave me and things we talked about. I will treasure these memories in my heart for the rest of my life.

John, you will be missed. Our neighborhood has lost another great friend. We know however that heaven has been blessed once again by your arrival.  Be at peace and May God Bless,

Your father was a great neighbor to me and everyone in the neighborhood that knew him.
Everyday he would be working on his landscaping and painting something from his shed. He always liked to be busy, many times he'd like to walk across the street and shoot the bull with me. I will miss that.  God bless his family during this difficult time.

The last 3 years have been so challenging for our father who suffered with multiple co-morbidities.  He tried so hard and really wanted to be back to his very active life for a man in his 80s.  However, with every hospitalization or injury, he could never get back to his baseline.  So many meds, doctor visits and set-backs.  He just couldn't gain traction.  It was very frustrating for him and he was tired.  He finally went with the Lord.  Through his faith and our hope, he is not in pain or suffering...PEACE.
