Jim was a great partner and friend who had an incredibly high level of common sense that he brought to the table at just the right time.

I knew Jim from the time we were homeroom classmates at Baltimore City College. To my great fortune, our friendship  deepened over the ensuing half century and more. He was a smart, solid, fearless, funny guy with a great heart and enormous love for his whole family. 


So many memories of being neighbors of Jim and Marge for 47 years! Husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, neighbor, friend....Jim excelled in all his roles! He tried to hide his teddy bear personality with gruffness.....without success! LaSalle Rd will not be the same without one of our very own founding fathers.

RIP, dear friend.

From the Baltimore City College, Class of June 1963 and his Homeroom Class D-13 with Prof. / Coach Joe Brune...we  will  miss Jim  Freel...a great guy with a big heart.   Jim made a perpetual donation to City College on behalf of his June '63 Class in honor of  the 30th Reunion in May, 1993...he designed, constructed/implemented the very first City College Tower lighting system...which has illuminated City's majestic Gothic Tower ...every night since May 1, 1993...for over 26 consecutive years. i met jim a few years ago while  digging  cypress.I could tell this man was worthy,diligent,straight shooter.Then  i became friends with his daughter and watched  the joy and sadness when she discussed her dad.this cuts particularly deep with holiday, friendship and hope dominating our get togethers.I wont forget this respected local success who was in the prime of his best years...
  

Growing up on the same street with Mr.Jim will always bring back fond memories of him with the lights on in the garage working on his Porsche’s and always lending a helping hand. I remember a particular time when we got so much snow the whole county was shut down. We got like 5 or 6 feet of snow over several days. I was stuck at work for 4 days in a row. My husband, at that time, Brian, was stuck at home with the kids. Poor guy ran out of smokes and worse of all...beer! I called , and Jim came to the rescue!  You have such an awesome family and will be missed terribly.  Say hi to Jimmy for me. Love always-Angie Orem. 

Though I have not seen Jim in nearly 20 years, I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.  Jim was one of the world's "good guys" and will be terribly missed.

He never took himself or the world too seriously and always found the humor in most any happening.

My best to Marge and the family and know that our prayers are with you.

Jim and Steve Sachs hired me to manage their Heavenly Ham business back in 1987.  Jim was just a kind, decent , easy going human being.    I have so many good memories of Jim.  My thoughts and prayers are with Marge and the rest of the family.  

A great friend and man who I have known over 55 years he will be missed by me and many more who have been blessed by his friendship
