Gloria Jean Tharpe

On March 12, 2020 Gloria J. Tharpe (nee Geary) passed away. She was the beloved wife of Raymond R. Tharpe; devoted mother of Sharon Chapman and her husband Daniel; cherished grandmother of Bryan Chapman and his wife Leigh, Krystina Chapman, and Zachary Chapman and his wife Anna; loving great-grandmother of Scott Chapman; beloved daughter of the late William L. Geary, Sr. and Elma K. Geary (nee Starr); dear sister of William L. Geary, Jr. and his wife Angie and K. Joanne Jenkins and her late husband James.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236, on Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 10:00 a.m.-12 Noon, at which time we will leave for a graveside service at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. (In accordance with guidelines that have been set forth by the CDC, we will only be allowing 50 people at any one time into the visitation room. The family and the funeral home asks the cooperation of everyone in following this policy). Interment and services will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Gloria’s name to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at University of MD, checks made payable to UMMS Foundation, 110 South Paca St, 9th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21201 (please make sure to include Gloria’s name on your donation).
