George Alex Pappas

George came to America in 1962. He was born to parents Alexios and Pagona Papadopoulos in Sigouni Greece in 1934. After serving for his country as a police officer in Greece, he immigrated to America to meet his wife, Evangelia, and raise a family. Together, they created a life and partnership of 59 years, fortified by their strength, work ethic, love, and making the most of simple joys. He was the rock of the family.

George was the beloved husband of Evangelia, devoted father of Pagona Narun (Dr. Lawrence Narun), Alex Pappas (Dawn Pappas), cherished grandfather to Eva, Rae, Leah and Alexia Narun, and Laura and George Pappas, and loving brother to Haralambos Papadopoulos and his wife Dina. Additionally, he is survived by family residing in Greece.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be held at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 2504 Cub Hill Road in Parkville on Friday, December 29, 2023, where a visitation will be held from 10:00- 10:30 am with Funeral Service following at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at the Saint Demetrios Cemetery.
