On April 8, 2022, Edward Patrick McBride, age 84, passed away at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ethna F. McBride (nee Cunningham); devoted father of Marie K. McBride (Don Curtis), Maureen M. Glinowiecki and her husband Joseph, Theresa L. McBride and Deborah S. Ellis and her husband David; loving grandfather of April L. Leonard and her husband Matt, Candice E. Jones, Erin G. Pressley and her husband Lucas, Nicole M. Ellis (Steven Brown), Adam J. Glinowiecki (Emma Frazier), Patrick E. Ellis (Ryan Sumner), and Amanda P. Ellis; cherished great-grandfather of Kyleigh M. Leonard, Brielle J. Leonard, Nova A. Brown, and Kai A. Brown; devoted son of the late Charlie and Kitty McBride of 15 Stanley’s Walk, Derry City, N. Ireland; dear brother of Mary Harkin and her husband Michael, Kathleen Collings and her husband Brian, Michael McBride and his wife Teresa, Mardie McMullan and her late partner Willie, the late John McBride, and the late Noel McBride and his late wife Eleanor; loving brother-in-law of Patricia McBride. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Edward was born in Derry City, N. Ireland. He was the Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1998. He also hosted the Reflections of Ireland radio show every Sunday for 41 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11 AM, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 9215 Old Harford RD, Parkville, MD 21234.
