On April 11, 2014, Evangelos N. Kotselas was born in Feneos, Greece in 1923. After graduation from Medical School from the University of Athens he came to the United States where he practiced as a general surgeon for 35 years in Virginia. He was founder and Chief of Surgery at Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, VA. He is survived by his devoted wife Marina Kotselas, his daughters Nicolle Mattes and her husband Peter, Deme Ann Lomis and her husband Van and his son Costa Kotselas and his wife Rebekah. He has six grandchildren: Costa, Evan, Luke, Mary, Deana and Angelique.
The family will receive friends at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2-5 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church located at 2504 Cub Hill Road Baltimore, Maryland 21234. Interment St. Demetrios Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
