Diane Ashenfelter Jones

Diane Jones (nee Ashenfelter) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Diane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Diane loved celebrating with her family, sharing her cooking and baking secrets, and enjoying season tickets to the Orioles and Ravens games, especially tailgating, but nothing was more ‘special, special’ to her than being Gordon’s wife and Grammy to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, of 36 years, B. Gordon Jones, her sons Bruce (Cassie) Dobson, Craig (Rebecca) Dobson, Mark Dobson, and Scott (Michele) Dobson, her step-children David Jones, Debbie Schlusser, Rebecca Jones, and Daniel (Jennifer) Jones, sisters Ellen Wiser and Mabel Doherty, grandchildren Carley (Chip) Brierre, Maddie Dobson, Sean Dobson, Sarah Dobson, Adam Dobson, Julia Jones, Justin (Sydney) Jones, Angela (Tom) Tatum, Elizabeth Tatum, Paul (Becca) Tatum, Whitney Tatum, Caroline (Brian) Emert, Anna Tatum, Joshua (Katherine) Tatum, and Kelsey Jones, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Minerva Ashenfelter, her sister Grace Chapman and grandsons Anthony Jones and Jared Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 4-7 PM. Further visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 10-11 AM, with a funeral service to begin at 11 AM. Interment services are private.
