FLAHERTY, William G. “Bill” 89, of Norwood, Thursday April 6. Son of the late William J. and Anne (Lydon). Beloved husband of Viola G. (Oja). Devoted father of Patricia Denehy and her husband Bill of Lithia FL, Carol Cappadona and her husband Don of Tiverton RI, William and his wife Vicki of Mansfield, Peter of Norwood, and Sheila Wein of Mansfield. Cherished grandfather of Billy, Jimmy, Katie, Billy, Steven, Matthew, Shannon, Michael, and Eric. Loving great-grandfather of Desirae, Avery, and Elise. Funeral Monday April 10 from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A), NORWOOD, at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood at 11. Visiting hours Monday morning 9 – 10:30 only. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Mr. Flaherty was a WW II U.S. NAVY Veteran. He was an Electronics Technician for Northrop of Norwood, retiring in 1996, and was a member of the Norwood Knights of Columbus. Bill was an avid golfer and tennis player, and he and Vi travelled to many destinations around the world together.
