family by his side on March 31, 2022 in Worcester, MA.
Bob attended Cleveland Elementary School as a child. During this time, Bob spent many summers
climbing the jetty and fishing at Corporation beach in Dennis, MA. Bob could also be found skating on
Ellis Pond and playing sports with his neighborhood friends.
Bob graduated from Norwood High School in 1997 and attended Becker College following graduation.
While born in Norwood, Bob certainly was not a Norwood ‘townie’ and loved to travel. Bob had lived in
Maine, California, and Florida. During his time traveling, Bob worked as a chef in many different
restaurants honing his skill as a self-proclaimed culinary master or as he was known at the Flat Penny,
the SPKM(self-proclaimed kitchen manager). Bob’s love for food, sharp wit, ‘correct’ opinions, and his
flawless ability to make people laugh made him very popular everywhere he went. Bob didn’t judge
people, he could walk into any establishment, talk to every person, then leave with new friends for life.
Bob was also avid New England sports fan and as an adult he participated in several pool leagues and
softball leagues in whichever area he was living.
Following his travels, Bob eventually moved backed to Massachusetts, living in Clinton for 5 years before
finally settling down with his partner and children in Southbridge, MA. During this time, Bob continued
working as a chef in local restaurants and volunteered at a local homeless shelter setting up cots and
handing out food. Bob’s most important role was co-raising three beautiful children and being a
supportive partner. As tradition would have it, Bob enjoyed taking the kids to the beach and playing
sports in the yard, just as he did as a child.
We are not sure if you realize this, but Bob was “kind of a big deal” or so he liked to inform everyone
who would listen. From his catchphrases and witty humor to his irresistible charm, Bob’s personality
touched a nearly impossible number of people. We will remember Bob as part of a trio singing Tracy
Chapman at school, running around with the neighborhood kids, acting like a local Gordon Ramsay and
most importantly as a father to three beautiful children. We love you, Bob.
Robert is survived by his loving family. His mother Patricia and stepfather Richard. His brother Michael
and Sister Kate. His partner Meaghan and his children Harper, Amelia, and Aaron. His nephew Patrick
and niece Teagan. Robert is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A visitation at Gillooly funeral home for Robert will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5:00pm to
8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to the homeless shelter Bob volunteered
