Richard W. Buttinger

Richard W. Buttinger, 92 of Norwood, formerly of Sharon on August 12, 2024. Beloved husband of Sally P. (Scanlon) Buttinger. Brother of the late Robert G. Buttinger.

He was the son of the late Walter B. and Helen (Graves) Buttinger. He is survived by his nephew Kenneth Buttinger and his wife Jane, and his niece Nancy Cohen, all of Connecticut.

Richard was a graduate of Norwich University and commissioned in the U.S. Army. He was employed in insurance claims, real estate, and an inspirational book business/ministry.

With his wife Sally he enjoyed travel to Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean. He also enjoyed the old TV westerns, especially Gunsmoke.

Richard's family is grateful for the loving care he received at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Thursday August 15, from 3-6 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the United Church of Norwood,595 Washington Street, Norwood on Friday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Richard's memory to The United Church of Norwood.
