Nancy Thompson

Nancy McGrath Thompson, age 61 of Norwood, died at home surrounded by family after a long illness. She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Mark Thompson, of Norwood; daughter Jessica Thompson and son Ian Thompson of Boston; brother David and wife Cindy McGrath of Norwood; sister Amy McGrath DiVincenzo of Westwood; nephews Samuel and Benjamin McGrath; Andrew, Connor, and Christian DiVincenzo; and Joseph Franco; and nieces, Linnea DiVincenzo; Ceara Voss; Louisa Franco; Ella, Jo, and Grace Thompson; and Annie and Maisie Morrison.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Edmund (Ozzie) and Barbara (Balfour) McGrath of Norwood. In addition to her immediate family, Nancy is survived by two beloved aunts and many neighbors, friends, and cousins, including Laurie Zimmerman, who gave her the gift of 12 more years of life.

Nancy’s positive outlook despite her health struggles, and love for family and friends, were an inspiration to all.

All friends and families are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 27, from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church in Norwood, 100 Winter Street, Norwood. A memorial service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Nancy’s name to the New England Donor Services is appreciated. Please consider becoming an organ donor and giving the gift of life. Registration is through the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
