Mary Ellen Donovan

Mary Ellen graduated from Norwood High School with the class of 1974, she earned an Associate’s degree from Garland Junior College, a Bachelor’s degree from Pace University, and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Marymount University. She lived and worked for many years in New York City and Washington, D.C., before returning to her hometown of Norwood.

Mary Ellen was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed travelling and loved to shop or just browse through stores. She especially enjoyed visits to Ireland and New York City. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and had a special bond with her niece and godchild, Molly Donovan.

Mary Ellen is survived by her adored siblings, Stephen Donovan and Brian Donovan and his wife Barbara and their daughter Molly Donovan; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Donovan; nephews Kirk Donovan and his partner Thomas Mann; Christopher Donovan and his wife Kimberly and their son Trevor. Mary Ellen is predeceased by her beloved brother, Kevin Donovan, who passed away in 2020.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood, from 9:00 to10:00am. Funeral Services will be held privately at St. Timothy Church, Norwood with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
