Margaret M. "Peg" (Fontaine) Ryding, died peacefully on January, 20th, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Clifford J. Ryding Sr.; loving mother of Clifford Ryding, Jr and his wife Diane of Westford, Liz Curran of Medfield and her late husband, Tim, Gregory Ryding and his wife Darcy of Easton, Margaret "Meg" Coffey of Norwood, Lauri Ryding and her wife Cari of Natick, and Tricia Gunning and her husband, Brian of Norwood. Adoring grandmother to Jennifer (Ryding) Gates and Cassie Ryding, Kristen, Tom and Andrew Curran, Lauren, Lana and Emmy Coffey, John, Daniel and Mary Kate Gunning and the stepchildren of Lauri: John, Claudia, and Grace Tatian. Peggy recently welcomed her first great, grandchild, Kenley Gates. Peg is predeceased by her sister, Jane Genereux and brother Robert "Bob" Fontaine. Peg is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Peg was born and raised in Pawtucket, RI. She attended Rhode Island College and went on to teach first grade. Peggy spent summers with her family in Matunuck, RI where she met Cliff Sr. They married and raised their family in Norwood for over 60 years. Peg worked at Lady Grace for many years and later assisted her husband, Cliff with his business. Peggy was a fun loving Mom that enjoyed the outdoors, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Peggy’s Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 27th at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Timothy’s Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, January 26th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Funeral Home.
