John J. Mulkern

MULKERN, John J. 83, of East Walpole died on Wednesday, July 12. Born on Inish Barra, County Galway, Ireland he was the son of the late Sean and Bridget (Cooney) Mulkerrins. Beloved husband for 58 years of Mary T. (O'Malley) Mulkern. Devoted father of Michael Mulkern of East Walpole, Ann Marie Mulkern of East Walpole, Noreen Cerqua of Walpole and MaryAnn Sullivan and her husband Mark of Foxboro. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Ryan and Jake Leppo, Sean Cerqua, Morgan, Joseph, Seamus and John Sullivan. Loving brother of Joseph Mulkerrins, Lettercallow, County Galway, Ireland and the late Michael, Paraic, James, Thomas, Morgan and Norah Mulkern, Mary O'Sullivan and Bridget Conley. Also survived by many loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both here in the United States and Ireland. John enjoyed gardening and building and fixing up his home. He will always be remembered for the love and care he gave his family. John was a member of Laborer’s Union Local 223 and worked for Sharon Public Schools. Funeral Wednesday July 19th from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rte. 1A), Norwood, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, East Walpole at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
