CRONIN, John Stephen “Steve”, age 85 of Norwood, formerly of Brookline and Ireland, Saturday Aug. 15. Son of the late John and Catherine (White) Cronin, beloved husband of Mary M. (Varian); devoted father of Stephen H. Cronin and his wife Maureen of Norwood and James B. Cronin of Peabody; affectionately known as "Gaga" to his grandchildren; Maura, Stephen, Roisin “Rosie” and Trisha Mary Cronin; brother of May Froggatt and Michael Cronin of Ireland and the late Pearl Rice and Paddy Cronin. Also survived by his in-laws Jimmy Varian and his wife Susan of Malden, Liam Varian and his wife Marie of Naples FL, and Richard McCarthy of W. Dennis, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Wednesday Aug. 19 from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St. Norwood at 11, interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W.
