Emily A. (Ciarlone) Millar

Of Norwood, passed away following a brief hard fought illness on Tuesday May 9, 2023 at age 71.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Antoinette (D’Errico) Ciarlone. Emily was raised in Roslindale attending local schools. She was a graduate of St. Clare High School. She went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Chamberlain Jr College. Emily worked for over 30 years as a Medical Transcriptionist at Norwood Hospital, where she met many life-long friends. She worked side by side with her husband Mitch at their catering business in Norwood. Emily had a passion for reading in her spare time. She also enjoyed working out, trips to Nantasket beach, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.

Emily was the beloved wife and best friend of 48 years of Robert E. “Mitch” Millar, and the devoted mother of Robert J. Millar, Michael E. Millar, and his wife Joanna, all of Norwood. Emily was the proud grandmother of Cora M. Millar of Norwood. She was the sister of Elaine and her husband Manlio DeGrandis of Dedham. She was the aunt and Godmother of Marie DeGrandis of Weymouth; sister in-law of Linda LeBeau of NJ, and the aunt of Laura Mirenda and Lisa Knechtel. She leaves behind her cherished grand-dogs Leo and Lola.

Services from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood at 11 AM. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home on Monday May 15, 2023 from 4-8 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
