CURRAN, Elizabeth Ann "Betts" (McGuff) of Norwood, Saturday September 16, 2023.
Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. McGuff and Lydia (Manley). Betts was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Curran, Sr., and the devoted mother of Patti Lou and her husband Andy Malacaria, Joseph F. Curran, Jr. and his wife Eileen, Maribeth and her late husband Russell Cunningham, and the late Christopher “Kibby” and his surviving wife Karen Curran.
Betts was the proud grandmother of Maura and her husband Randy Belanger, Sean Curran, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Curran and her fiancee Sam Cerulo, Christopher Curran and his wife Michaela, Michael Curran and his wife Elena, Matthew Cunningham and his wife Michelle, Kathleen and her husband Chris Ewings, and the late Andrew Malacaria and Kevin Cunningham, great-grandmother of Brayden Belanger, Gavin, Patrick, Maggie, Gia, and Luca Curran, Chloe and Avery Cunningham, and Olivia and Samantha Ewings.
She was the sister of Patricia and her late husband Raymond Hall, Sheila and her late husband Jack Barnett, and the late Thomas McGuff, Jr. and his surviving wife Irma, Mary Lou and her husband James Foley, Kathleen and her surviving husband Thomas Kenney, and Marcia and her husband Robert Jenkins. Sister in-law of Joanne and her late husband Paul McCready and John Cotter and his wife Sally. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Betts attended local schools and was a 1950 Norwood High School Graduate. She was a long-time RB (childhood friends), and later in life enjoyed the Wednesday night girls. She was a longtime waitress at the OCC, and enjoyed 35 trips to Hawaii with Dad. Betts was a fan of the New England Patriots, Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Norwood Mustangs. She loved being with her kids, grandkids, and especially her greats!!

Services from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Monday September 25 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington Street, Norwood at 11 AM. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Betts' memory to the Kibby Fund, 7 Old Farm Road, Norwood MA 02062. Kibby Fund proceeds go to youth sports groups in Norwood and Walpole, of which the Currans were lifelong supporters.
