CLOWER, Dr. Courtney G.,82, of Norwood, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, and Winchester, Thursday, January 2nd. Born in Marquette, Michigan and raised in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Courtney G. and Lillieth (Harrington) Clower, the loving father of Elizabeth Dean-Clower of Cambridge and Robert C. Clower and his wife Christine of Medfield, the cherished grandfather of Kathryn, Chelsea and Allison of Medfield, and the dear brother of Jean Hobbs of Aurora, Colorado and her husband Warren, their children, and grandchildren, and the late Kathleen Clower. He is also survived by his former spouse, Margot (Smith) Clower of Winchester. Dr. Clower received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from St. Louis University and received his residency training in psychiatry at Boston University. After serving as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, he joined the Dept. of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, publishing articles on his innovative research. Subsequently he practiced psychiatry at several institutions in New England and as a faculty member at Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 10th, at 10:00 AM at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, at St. Catherine of Siena Church Chapel (Nahatan St. entrance), 547 Washington St., Norwood. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 9th at the funeral home.
