Terry L. Downey

long illness. He was born on August 18, 1958 to the late Thomas E. and Eleanor M. Downey. He was also predeceased by his brothers, John R. Downey, Dennis R. Downey, and Patrick E.Downey. He is survived by his daughter, Tameka L. Leib and son in law, Craig L. Leib, of Norwich; their 4 children, Lewis J. Leib, Jacob L. Leib, Kamilia M. Leib and Elias L. Leib; his siblings, Douglas J. Downey, of South New Berlin; Thomas R. Downey, of Oxford; Star Moon, of Earlville; and his sisters in law, Annie Downey and Kathy Constable, of Norwich, along with several nieces and nephews.

Terry was a graduate and lifelong resident of Norwich, aside from some road work travels in his

early years. Terry lived a simple life and loved spending time with family and friends, playing

horseshoes, risk, and cards. He was a hard worker with a great sense of humor, and was always wanting and willing to help someone in need if he was able.

Per Terry’s request, there will be no formal funeral services. He has asked, that those close to him who wish to have a drink in his honor do so at The Broad Street Tavern, on Sunday, June 30th, 2024 at 1pm.

Terry and his brothers had a deep love for The Stone Quarry in Norwich, we ask that in lieu of flowers donations in memory be made to The Chenango Greenway Conservancy or The Norwich Fire Department.
