Rose was born May 15, 1940 in Plymouth, NY living the majority of her life in South Plymouth.
She was a graduate of Norwich High School, Class of 1957. Upon graduating high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Milton Mott on May 17, 1958. Rose was a life-long member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and worked at countless church suppers. Rose worked at the Norwich Knitting Mill, baby sat for neighborhood children, and was Plymouth Town Clerk for many years. Once her children were all in school, she went to work for Gibson School as “the money lady” in the cafeteria where she served for 35 years putting a smile on many children’s faces every day.
Rose was best known as “the lunch lady” at Gibson School where she was always ready to give a hug and ice cream to the many kids she adored there. She was also known for her beautiful flower beds and amazing apple pies.
Rose was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Erma Inman, of Plymouth; her husband, Milton Mott, of South Plymouth; her “sister”, Ruth Tucker, of Norwich; and her companion, Neil Pease, of Smithville Flats.
Rose is survived by her daughters, Vicki and Calvin Smith, of Norwich, Brenda Mott-Monroe and her husband Bob Monroe, of Plymouth, and Tammy and Tom Ingraham, of South Plymouth; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Chad Faulkner, of Olean, Mikala Sherman Kortright and her husband Kyle Kortright, of Kerhonkson, and Bailey Sherman and Kashaun Curry, of Charlotte NC; her great-grandchildren, Cole, Owen and Anna Faulkner, all of Olean; her “sister”, Doris Ashcraft, of Norwich; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Broad St. United Methodist Church, 74 N. Broad St. Norwich with Pastor Linda Powell-Owens officiating.
