Rocky Dale (Poppy) Sherman, 68, of Norwich, entered eternal rest on December 2, 2022. He was born on September 13, 1954 to the late Morrell Arthur and Faith Doris Sherman, of Afton; he was also predeceased by his brother, Richard. He is survived by his children; David, of Norwich; James, of Plattsburgh; Michael, of Afton; Kimberly, of Sidney; and Shelby, of Sidney; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mildred Lockwood, and Dixie Shultz, as well as his brother, William Sherman, all of Afton.
Rocky made his living as a custodian at Afton Central School for many years and he loved going to the races in Afton during the summer.
A celebration of Rocky’s life will take place in the spring.
