Melissa L Cook

Melissa Lyn Cook (Johnson), 57, of Smithville Flats, NY passed away unexpectedly at Wilson Memorial on June 15th, 2023. Melissa was born April 23, 1966 in Little Falls, NY. She was a devout Christian and loved life. She volunteered at Smithfield Fire Dept and SEVAC Ambulance Corps for many years where she became a paramedic. She enjoyed many passions Including gardening, raising farm animals, concerts, and genealogy. She was a mother to many including taking in people that often had no where else to turn and helping them back on their feet.

Melissa is survived by her husband Arnold Johnson, 6 children: Danielle Evans (Tadd), Jackie Royce, Amanda Johnson, Joseph Cook (Brittney), Jonathon Tuttle (Cassie), and Christopher Eiholzer. She had 13 grandchildren: Jade, Cara, Tyler, Matt, Caleb, Joe Jr, Lukas, Kali, Caleb, Aubree, Jon, Malachi, Amirah; and 1 great grandchild: Logan. Melissa is survived by her mother Gail Dicks (Nicholas) and her brother James Cook.

In lieu of traditional services Melissa’s children will be having a celebration of life for her on July 8th, 2023 at 2pm at 7132 Hamilton St Hamilton, NY 13346. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor Melissa at that time.
