Marie E. Pearson

Marie was born in Binghamton, NY on November 29, 1952 the daughter of John and Alma (Murray) Proskine. She attended and graduated from the Norwich High School and was a member of the Schools Color Guard. Following her education in Norwich she attended beauty school in Oneonta and became a licenced beautician. For 20 plus years she owned and operated Shear Pleasure Beauty Shop. Marie also owned and operated her own Real Estate Company known as Pearson Property.At the time of her death she was employed with the Howard Hanna Real Estate Co.

In her leisure time Marie enjoyed a good game of cards, was an avid bowler and sponsored many teams over the years. Marie was also a member Election Board for Chenango County.

Marie enjoyed a good conversation with most anyone and always had a smile on her face. She could often be seen at Bill’s Diner for morning coffee or breakfast.

Marie is survived by her son Josh Pearson of Norwich, her siblings Edna (Wayne) Baseden of OR, Connie (David) Halberg of Norwich, Tom (Kathy) Proskine of Norwich, John (Sherry) Proskine of PA, Phillip (Lisa) Proskine of Sherburne and a sister-in-law Genia Proskine of Norwich. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Marie’s family would like to especially thank Joe Biviano for being a true friend to Marie over the past few years.

Besides her parents, John and Alma, Marie was predeceased by her brother James Proskine and good friend Tom Cleary that was a dear friend for many years.

A graveside service for Marie will be held on Tuesday, August 17, at 10:30 am from the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 pm
