Larry was born October 24, 1998 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich. He graduated from Otselic Valley Central School in June, 2017.
He met the love of his life, Amber, at the age of 12, and at the age of 17 became a father for the first time to his little “Girly,” Charlotte. At the age of 22, he became a father for the second time to his little “Bubba,” Nicholas.
He worked part-time at the 17 at Otselic Valley Central School to support his new family. He also worked at the VonHassell Farm, Walmart Corp., Gladding Corp., and ADK of Smyrna for a short time.
Larry held a love for basketball, tractor pulling, riding bikes and doing bike tricks. He enjoyed following the Duke University basketball team and the Buffalo Bills, as well as bowling with his brother, brother-in-law, and his dad. But, above all, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his wife, Amber (Thornton) Hackett, his daughter, Charlotte M. Hackett, and his son, Nicholas L. Hackett, all of South Otselic. He is also survived by his father, Morris L. Hackett Sr., and his “momma,” Katherine (Dunagan) Hackett of Plymouth; his sisters, Jennifer (James) Button of Plymouth, Jennifer (Jake) Stith of Pitcher, Sherri Palmer of Lebanon, and Wendy Hackett of Norwich; his brother, Morris L. Hackett Jr. of Bouckville; and his brother-in-law, Brian Button of Plymouth; as well as six nieces, six nephews, and several aunts and uncles. He held a special love for and bond with his Aunt Tate and Uncle Bill, his uncle, Howard Brazee (“Grandpa”), as well as hundreds of friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Neil and Lillian Hackett, and Larry and Gloria Dunagan; his uncles, Kenny and Gary Hackett Sr.; his aunt, Thelma Brazee; and his brother-in-law, Elton Palmer of Lebanon.
Visitation will be held June 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116, N. Broad Street, Norwich. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor James Moore officiating.
