Helen E. Watson

Helen E. Watson, formerly of Apache Junction, AZ passed away peacefully at Rome Hospital on September 26, 2023, with family by her side. She was born in Watertown, NY on October 23, 1938, to Lawrence and Greta Cook.

Helen worked at Community Distributing and Rite Aid Warehouse, where she met the love of her life, George Watson. They were married on April 27th, 1984, in St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rome, NY.

Helen enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She was an avid puzzler and loved to cook for others. She also loved Nat King Cole’s music and will always be lovingly thought by some, as “Unforgettable”!

She is predeceased by her parents, husband George A Watson, brother Robert Cook, and sister Virginia Cook.

Helen is survived by her loving children; Deborah Myers, Kathleen Gibbs (David), Wendy Schreiber (Jeff), Bonnie Coluccio (Edward), Jeffrey Myers (Jennifer), 2 stepdaughters Lisa Briley (Ron), Bonnie Schallermeir (Armin), 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Louise Secor.

At Helen’s request, there will not be a service. Helen loved Arizona. Her family will be returning there at a later date to scatter her and her husband’s ashes on Superstition Mountain which she claimed as “Her Mountain”.

The family would like the thank those who took tender, loving care of her at RHCF.
