Frederick H. Wich

Frederick H. Wich of South Plymouth passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2023. He was the son Marie (Coniglio) and Adolf Wich. He was born in the Bronx and raised in Manhattan and Yonkers where he met his wife of 56 years Frances (Korwatch) Wich. They have three sons Robert (Laurie) Wich, Richard and Daniel Wich and a daughter Patricia (Donald) Smith. Over the years they have resided in Lynbrook, Rockaway and have resided in South Plymouth since 1999. He is also survived by his sister Catherine (Joseph) Cunnis, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren along with many, many friends. He was predeceased by his mother Marie, father Adolf brothers George, Charles, James, Robert, and sister Theresa.

Fred worked for International Guns, owned his own shop the Sportsmans Gunsmith and retired from Madeline Chocolate as a machinist. He had been a gunsmith, hunter, fisherman and camper most of his life. Anyone who ever met him will never forget him.

A funeral service for Fred will be held on Friday, August 25, at Noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Pastor Laura Wade of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norwich will officiate. Burial will be in the South Plymouth Cemetery. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at Noon.
