Deborah Jean Goda

She was born in Peekskill, NY on July 11th, 1953, the daughter of Wallace Mertens and Lorraine Ireland.

Debbie was a caring woman who devoted her life to foster care for many years, served as the vice president of the Reye’s Syndrome Foundation, Westchester chapter, and also worked in the nursing field for years.

She enjoyed crafts, plants and gardening, and spending time with the people who meant the most to her: her family.

Debbie is predeceased by her father Wallace, her mother Lorraine, and her son John. She is survived by her brother Wallace Mertens, her loving husband of 50 years, John Goda, her daughter Kimberly Goda, and her son Joshua (June) Goda; her grandchildren: Kegan, Kaylee, Kayson, Braydon, and Elijah; and her great-grandson Liam.

There will be no formal services, but only a private family gathering at a later date.
