Darlene was born on September 11, 1955, in Sherburne, NY, the daughter of James and Elaine Bell (Crandall) Parker. She was a graduate of Sherburne/Earlville Central School.
She was employed at Carrol’s, Bartle’s Pharmacy, Chenango Memorial Hospital, Walmart, Mead’s and provided daycare for over 40 children throughout the years until her retirement.
Darlene loved spending her time volunteering, including many years with the soup kitchen in Oxford. She also enjoyed traveling (particularly to the beach), attending church, and going to theater performances. She was an avid bingo player and loved crafting, particularly crocheting and scrapbooking.
On July 3, 1993, she married Charles Beckwith who survives her.
In addition to her husband, Darlene is survived by her children, Todd & Marcia Wells, of Chenango Forks, NY, Eric & Amber Wells, of Oxford, NY, Mike Wells & Jason Cloen, of Rochester, NY, and Charlene Beckwith & Andrew Polzella, of Rochester, NY; her grandchildren; Matthew Wells, Tatianna Wells, Jordan Hermey, Orion Lamen, Tamya Wells, Olivia Wells, Taybian Wells and Magnolia Wells, Brothers; Mike & Tamie Parker of Harpursville, NY, Jody & Tracey Parker of Felton, DE; and her sister-in-law, Margine Parker of Macomb, MI; as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Jim, Eddie, and Wayne Parker.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the American Legion, 17 S. Washington Ave. Oxford, NY from 3:00-6:00pm with a short service and refreshments to follow.
