Beatrice Moore

Beatrice E. Moore, 92, of Norwich, passed away on April 14, 2021. She was born on July 13, 1928 in Utica to the late Edwin E. and Hazel (Stradling) VanTine. She was also predeceased by her daughters, Kathleen Ann Oderkirk and Linda Marie Greer. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Lee Moore, of Norwich; her son in law, Charles Greer, of Florida; her grandchildren, Brian, Justin, Amanda, Adam, Jessica, Lindsey, Wayne, and Nicholas; her great-grandchildren, Hanna, Everett, Isabella, Ethen, Elaina, Adam, Russell, and Abiana; as well as many friends. Beatrice grew up in Norwich, graduating from Norwich High School in 1946. She went on to attend nursing school in Syracuse and found employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse until the fall of 1949, when she moved back to Norwich. On January 1, 1950, Beatrice married John A. Moore, of Norwich. Beatrice returned to nursing in 1957 with a career at Chenango Memorial Hospital where she served for 27 years. She then went on to work at the Chenango Valley Home full time until 1992 and stayed on part time until her retirement in 2004.

Beatrice was a lifetime member of the Norwich VFW Auxiliary Post 2782 and the American Legion Post 189 Auxiliary. She was also a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Norwich. She loved to read and solve crossword puzzles.
