Alicia was born in Norwich on April 27, 1951 the daughter of Archer K. and Ellen M. White Byam. She has made her home in the area all of her life and attended the South New Berlin school. In 1972 she began a longtime career with the C&U Telephone Co. and it’s successors retiring earlier this year from Frontier Communications. Over the years with the company she worked as an operator, a test board operator and Asst. Supervisor.
In her spare time Alicia along with her husband operated a small farm. She enjoyed raising horses, chickens and her vegetables. Her love of animals was shown in many ways. She was a breeder of cats and dogs which she raised and sold over the years being especially fond of Chihuahua’s, Pomeranian’s and Siamese Cats. Alicia was also an excellent artist. Over the years she has made countless posters for the telephone company, costumes for parades and many drawings.
On June 30, 1973 in Norwich she married Kenneth A. Livingston who survives. Besides her husband Ken of Norwich she is survived by her daughters Erica Livingston of Edmeston, Bethany Paradis and husband Michael of Watertown, TN and Gabrielle Palson and husband Joe of Norwich, Her sisters Althea Fountain of Norwich, Elaine Riker of TN and her brothers Marks Byam and wife Shirley of Middleberry Center, PA and Lawerence Byam and wife Janie of MS. Also surviving are her grandchildren Caleb, Savanah, Logan and Isabelle along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alicia was predeceased by her brother Everett Byam and sister Nadine Byam
A funeral service for Alicia will be held on Thursday evening, October 29, at 7:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis McKenna, Pastor of the Norwich Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 pm.
