Teresa Schulz

Schulz- Teresa A. Schulz, 84, of Preston died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at home with family after her second courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Colchester, VT on August 26, 1933, daughter of the late Harold and Anita (Croteau) Teague. She married Theodore O. Schulz Sr. on July 12, 1952. She worked as a librarian at the Otis Library and at St. Bernard High and then was employed as a rural mail carrier for the Norwich USPS until her retirement. She is survived by her children, Tracy Schulz Davis and husband Reginald of Manchester, Theodore Schulz Jr. and wife Gloria of North Stonington, Timothy Schulz and wife Christine of Preston, and Terri Bortles and husband James of Linesville PA. She also leaves her sisters Virginia Teague and Pat Tennant and brother Harold (Pete) Teague, as well as 6 grandchildren Carolyn, Keith, Chase, Victoria, Connor, and Nathan. Teresa also leaves 3 step grandchildren Marc, RJ, and Katie and 3 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by an infant brother. Teresa had a love of reading, history and anything pertaining to Ireland or Vermont. She liked genealogy, slot machines, the Boston Red Sox, and flowers especially gladiolas. She was happy when spending time with family and going out with friends. She enjoyed the view of Poquetanuck Cove where she lived. She was an activist in several causes. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday Dec.14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Avery Stoddard Cemetery Gales Ferry. There are no calling hours.
