Stanley was born January 6, 1932 in Hancock, ME, the son of the late Haroldine and Eleanor (Springer) Taylor.
He served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving aboard the USS Hyman. After leaving the Navy he moved to East Hartford where he worked as a Supervisor for Pratt & Whitney for 35 years and retired in 1986. As an avid salt water fisherman, Stanley also worked aboard the Hellcat II fishing vessel in the galley until his mid 80’s. He loved going on cruises and often said the sea was his mistress. He was an avid UCONN women’s basketball fan. He was known as “Stanley Now” as everything needed to be completed right away. Above all else, he was a very special and loyal person who would always be there for anyone who needed help.
In addition to his loving wife Danielle Kaminski, he is survived by his children Craig Taylor and wife Lucrecia of VA, Sheila Taylor of East Windsor, LouAnne Racz and Sandra Taylor of Broadbrook, by his brother Ralph Taylor and wife Rhoda of E. Hartford, sisters Della Mitchell of S. Windsor, Diane and Donnie Tamiso of FL, by his step children Michael Kaminski Sr. and his wife Tracy, and Jennifer Kaminski, by his grandchildren Robert, James, Michelle, Michael, Mario, Andromeda, Michael Jr., Stanley, and Kayla; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great- great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Sheila Taylor and Judith Ward, by his brother Harold Ray and by his son in law David Racz and brother in law John Mitchell.
Stanley’s family would like to thank everyone at ECHO and at Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during his illness.
Calling hours will be held at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen on Thursday, August 19 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 22 Maple Ave. in Montville on Friday, August 20 at 11 am, meeting directly at the Church. Burial at Sea will be private for the immediate family.
