Rich was a high school graduate, class of 1979 where he met his high school sweetheart and wife of 43 years Rosemary (Rose) Richardson Bohara who survives him. Rich and Rose married June 16, 1979, and lived in Norwich where Rich started his work history beginning at McDonald’s, moving to Barker’s, then Prague’s Shoe Store in the Norwich town mall. He would then move onto Lightolier in the Industrial Park in Norwich. Rich also was a custodian at Buckingham School. Then onto the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he started out mowing the lawn, moved to driving the snowplows and moved up to Equipment Coordinator. Rich loved his job and all the people he worked with.

Two granddaughters, Sylvia and Olivia Briggs both of Norwich, Ct.
Rich was a member of the Poquetanuck fire department, The Red Cross and the Knights of Columbus. He loved helping others and was always there to help those in need. He often put on spaghetti dinners to raise money for those who needed help. Rich loved animals from a very early age, there are many stories from his childhood of him bringing animals home and this would be a special gift he would pass onto his children. He always had a dog or dogs who helped him during recovery after his stroke and then some. It is because of his love for animals, we are asking in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the CT Humane Society in his honor.
There will be a private graveside ceremony, coordinated by Labenski Funeral Home, on December 28th, for immediate family only. On January 29, 2023, to honor Rich’s wishes, we will have a celebration of life at the Moose Lodge in Bozrah, Ct at 1pm. We would like everyone to come and join in remembrance of him and have one of his favorite meals with us and share your stories and memories with us.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.labenskifuneralhome.com for the Bohara family.
